The occupiers use the super-powerful FAB-3000 without proper accuracy — Kovalenko

While the Russians are refining the UMPK for the three-ton bomb, its use will not stop.

Russian designers have actually installed a copy of the universal planning and correction module (UMPK), previously used on one-and-a-half-ton munitions, on the three-ton FAB-3000 bomb.

This is evidenced by the first clear photo of this super-powerful aerial bomb, published by military analyst Oleksandr Kovalenko of the "Information Resistance" group.

“It is not surprising that the UMPK, allegedly specially designed for the FAB-3000 in 2023 and supposedly “successfully” tested in the winter-spring of 2024, turned out to be completely unsuitable for installation on a bomb with the mass-inertia characteristics of a three-ton bomb,” the expert noted.

At the same time, Oleksandr Kovalenko says that while the Russians are refining the UMPK for the three-ton bomb, its use will not stop, but rather increase.

“The accuracy and reliability of the FAB-3000, of course, are lacking, but its destructive power is terrible, so the Russian occupying forces will not abandon its use, even in a defective form,” he suggested.

The military analyst also noted that the designers have not applied any changes to the bomb itself – even the nose of the FAB-3000 is still covered with a fairing to reduce air resistance.
