The security situation in Ukraine will show when the state will join NATO – Yermak

Ukraine is actively working to ensure its security on the way to NATO membership, cooperating with partner countries that support the provision of the necessary guarantees.

This was announced by the Head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak.

According to Yermak, all the leaders of the partner states have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the draft of the Kyiv Security Treaty. Ukraine proposes to develop a document that will combine the best positions of this agreement and effective mechanisms used in other countries.

The Head of the Presidential Office emphasized that security guarantees for Ukraine will be valid until the country joins NATO. At the same time, he confirmed Ukraine's ambitions to become a member of the Alliance and emphasized the constant work on supporting the Euro-Atlantic course.

"I have no doubts that in the future Ukraine will be a member of NATO. But we are realists. We understand that this will happen when the security situation allows," Yermak emphasized.

He also added that two key priorities are expected from the summit in Vilnius: The Head of the Presidential Office emphasized that security guarantees for Ukraine will be valid until the country joins NATO. At the same time, he confirmed Ukraine's ambitions to become a member of the Alliance and emphasized the constant work on supporting the Euro-Atlantic course.

"I have no doubts that in the future Ukraine will be a member of NATO. But we are realists. We understand that this will happen when the security situation allows," Yermak emphasized.

"Fixing the fact that our path to membership in NATO is without alternative, and before we join the Alliance - obtaining security guarantees", - the Head of the Presidential Office emphasized.
