"There will be no temporary truce with Russia" - Podolyak

Any temporary truce with Russia is a path to further escalation, so it is out of the question, Ukrainian presidential adviser, Mykhaylo Podolyak said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

The negotiation process between the Ukrainian and Russian sides has not stopped, said Podolyak.

“The temporary truce with the Russian Federation is always a path to further escalation and war. It cannot be. We need to secure conditions that will prevent the Russian Federation from even thinking about firing on Ukrainian territory or crossing our borders.

The temporary truce is encouraging the Russian Federation to act further aggressively," he said.

According to him, without real preventive mechanisms to prevent war, no agreement would not work.

“We will not accept those terms, it's a matter of principle”, said Podolyak.

Previously, Ukrainian presidential adviser, Mykhaylo Podolyak said that if Russia wants to demonstrate its readiness for dialogue with Ukraine, it must lower the degree of hostility.
