U.S. no longer supplying weapons: Kuleba names Ukraine’s main donor now

U.S. military aid has stopped, and the European Union has now become Ukraine's primary supplier of artillery shells.

The European Union, not the United States, is currently the main supplier of artillery shells to Ukraine.

This was stated by former Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in an interview on the YouTube channel Moseichuk Podcast.

“The truth is that today the main supplier of shells is the European Union — aside from what we produce ourselves. According to the latest statistics, U.S. aid has already stopped coming in,” Kuleba said.

He referred to data from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, which showed that at the beginning of this year, the U.S. was slightly ahead of the EU in terms of defense support volume, but later American assistance dropped to zero, while the European Union has continued increasing its supplies.

The former foreign minister also commented on whether the U.S. can sell weapons to European countries, which then transfer them to Ukraine:

“They already were and still are selling them. It’s a different category of weapons. When the war broke out on October 7, when Hamas attacked Israel, both Israel and Ukraine urgently needed artillery shells. And the U.S. was a major supplier of artillery shells. At the time, there were concerns that the shells might not go where they were needed…”

Kuleba also notes that for Ukraine, the key economic factor in global politics is the price of oil:

“In this war, we have one interest — the price of oil. The higher the global price due to Iranian oil being pulled from the market, the more money the Russian Federation makes. Everything else has secondary or tertiary influence.”
