After defeating Russia, Ukraine will become symbolically important for the EU, and therefore will become a member of the union. This could happen much sooner than 2030.
This was stated by Advisor to the Office of the President, Mykhailo Podolyak, on the air of the telethon.
Today, Ukraine has entered concrete negotiations regarding its accession. All countries have undergone this process: for some, it took 2 years, for others 3, and for some even 8 years.
"As for Ukraine, there is a direct dependence here: if we win the war, the negotiations will proceed quickly, and we won't even feel like we will be members of the European Union. This is because we will be symbolically important specifically for the European Union," Podolyak said.
In his opinion, Ukraine will be able to join the EU much earlier than 2030.
"The question is how quickly Russia will cease to exist in its current form," Podolyak concluded.
