Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that Russian president Volodymyr Putin enjoys his lifestyle, which is why he would be unlikely to risk using nuclear weapons.

He said this in an interview on the American TV channel Fox News.

“No one knows what’s going on in his [Putin's] head. He could use nuclear weapons against any country at any time. Or he might not. I'm not sure he will.”

Zelenskyy described the Russian leader as “not always adequate.” He explained, “Any adequate person cannot simply invade Ukraine and do what he has done.”

At the same time, the Ukrainian President expressed confidence that the Kremlin leader would not dare to use nuclear weapons in the war against Ukraine.

“I think he loves his life, his lifestyle, and how he controls the lives of others. I can say that for sure. And that’s why I believe he must be afraid to use nuclear weapons,” he said.
