Westinghouse has officially confirmed the possibility of using Bulgarian reactors to complete the power units at the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant

This is stated in an official letter sent to the leadership of the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine (NAEK "Energoatom").

"No obstacles were found that could prevent the integration of the main reactor equipment currently stored at the Belene NPP site," the letter from the American company states.

Westinghouse also previously confirmed its readiness to supply fuel assemblies for the operation of the new power units #3 and #4 at the Khmelnytskyi NPP.

Recently, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) supported Ukraine’s plans to complete the construction of two power units at the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant.

Power units #3 and #4 at the Khmelnytskyi NPP are 80% and 25% complete, respectively.

The draft law on the completion of the station provides for the use of exclusively fuel manufactured using American Westinghouse technology on these units.
