Attack on Kryvyi Rih: Details on strikes, consequences and victims

During the attack on Kryvyi Rih on the night of July 16, Russian forces used a missile and Shahed drones. The enemy struck infrastructure and enterprises, injuring a 17-year-old youth.

Head of the Kryvyi Rih District Military Administration Yevhen Sytnychenko, shared details of the attack’s consequences during a broadcast on 1+1.

«It was a combined attack. There was a missile, followed by Shaheds. They hit the infrastructure of our city, and enterprises sustained damage,» the head of the administration said.

A 17-year-old youth was injured during the attack. He underwent surgery overnight and is currently in a serious but stable condition in the hospital. Doctors are doing everything possible to ensure the patient’s swift recovery.

Sytnychenko also speculated on the likely cause of the young man’s injuries.

«Most likely, it was from a „Shahed“, as there were a large number of them in various locations. The area they struck is quite extensive,» the head of the military administration said.

Currently, all municipal equipment is working at the scene to restore order in the city. It is noted that the city authorities and the State Emergency Service (SES) responded promptly and professionally.

Power lines were damaged, but electricity and water supply were restored by morning. Kryvyi Rih and its district are now operating normally.

«Recently, people have become more cautious, using all available shelters. We have both mobile and stationary shelters in place. When the air raid siren sounds, most people quickly move to safe locations,» Sytnychenko said.

He noted that over the past two weeks, Russian forces have been attacking the Kryvyi Rih district more frequently and intensely, following a brief period of relative calm.
