During the Russian missile attack on Mykolaiv region on June 3, a Kinzhal missile was aimed at port infrastructure, which is currently non-operational.

This was reported by Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim, during a broadcast on Novyny.LIVE.

“For the first time during the full-scale invasion, the Russians attacked Mykolaiv region with a Kinzhal missile. They targeted port infrastructure in the suburbs of Mykolaiv, but the missile hit the ground,” Kim said.

He adds that it remains unclear why the occupiers targeted port facilities that have not been operational for three years and where no people are currently present.

Kim reminded that Mykolaiv’s ports will remain closed until the end of hostilities, as access to them passes near the Kinburn Spit, which is occupied by Russian forces and used to shell civilian vessels.
