On Wednesday, October 22, Kharkiv came under a massive attack by Russian drones. A private kindergarten was hit. A 40-year-old man was killed.

This was reported by City Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Head of the Regional Military Administration Oleh Synehubov.

"Kharkiv is under a massive attack by enemy drones — there are still enemy combat drones in the sky over the city," the mayor emphasized.

According to him, the occupiers are attacking the Kholodnohirskyi district of the city. Strikes by drones occurred there. A preschool educational institution was damaged.

"Strike on a private kindergarten in the Kholodnohirskyi district. A fire at the impact site," Terekhov stressed.

The city mayor clarified that all children were evacuated from the kindergarten where the fire broke out. The evacuation was carried out to the basement premises within the facility itself, the mayor said during the telethon.

According to him, the occupiers struck the facility with three "Shaheds." The second floor completely collapsed, and the fire is still burning. Rescuers continue working at the site of the impact.

It should be noted that initially the authorities reported that children had been injured. However, later Terekhov emphasized that information about children being injured was not confirmed. Seven people were injured, but these are not the facility's pupils. Among the injured and the deceased are utility workers who were working nearby.
