AFU Confirmed Strikes Against Antonov Bridge and Explained Why Civilians Could Not Be Affected

The casualties in AFU’s strike against Antonov Bridge were, most likely, the Russian military servicemen wearing civilian clothes.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike against Antonov Bridge in Kherson Region carried out in the early hours of October 31st. At the same time, the AFU refuted the fake allegation about multiple civilian casualties in the attack.

Natalia Humeniuk, the Head of United Coordination Press Center of the Southern Ukraien Defence Forces, provided details about the strike during the national telethon.

"Yes, we do keep it (Antonov Bridge – ed.) under our fire control, however, as I have repeatedly stressed, we do not shoot to kill and we do not attack critical infrastructure facilities. We also never attack civilian population and settlements”, Humeniuk stressed.

According to her, no civilians could have been around the bridge, since there were curfew restrictions, which are strictly enforced by the invaders.

"Even the invaders themselves confirm that there could be no civilians, because there were curfew restrictions, and the Russian authorities strictly enforce these restrictions and use harsh measures against potential trespassers. Therefore, there is no way civilians could have been there”, Humeniuk stressed.

Nevertheless, according to her, the casualties in the strike might have been the invaders wearing civilian clothes.

"They attempted to hide their affiliation with the military and create a picture, where Ukraine allegedly attacked civilian population. Still, this is not truth", Humeniuk added.
