Can the ceasefire be monitored using drones and satellites? An expert points out the danger

According to an expert, the vast length of the front line will make it impossible to monitor the ceasefire using technical means.

How to control the future ceasefire regime at the front

It is impossible to monitor the ceasefire on the front line using technical means.

This opinion was expressed by military expert Dmytro Snehiryov on the "Espreso" broadcast.

In the expert's opinion, the option currently proposed in the West — using satellite images and UAVs to monitor the ceasefire — will not work. "This is an absolutely stillborn project," Snehiryov is convinced.

As an example, he cited the start of the Ukrainian Armed Forces operation in the Kursk region in August 2024. At that time, the Russians, despite their powerful satellite reconnaissance capabilities, were unable to notice the operational deployment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Sumy region in time.
"Therefore, if there is again some form of military-political pressure on Ukraine from strategic partners during the transfer of intelligence data to us, how will we verify the accumulation and redeployment of Russian forces?" the analyst explains.

According to the expert, the vast length of the front line will make it impossible to monitor the compliance with the ceasefire using technical means.
"The same applies to UAVs. The front line is 1200 km long. Therefore, verifying the redeployment and accumulation of enemy forces is impossible. It is impossible to track the ceasefire with technical means," he concluded.
