Fierce Battles for Bakhmut: Ukrainian Armed Forces Name Two Main Tasks Performed by Ukrainian Military
The tactics of the Wagner PMC is to deplete Ukrainian positions attacking wave after wave, despite incredible losses.
In his interview with Radio NV, Colonel Serhii Cherevatyi, the Spokesman of the Eastern AFU Group Command, says that Ukrainian troops are performing two main tasks while holding the defense of Bakhmut.
The first task is to prevent the invaders from systematically breaking through the Ukrainian defense, to achieve strategic success in order to get to the rear of the Defense Forces, surround the AFU troops, and quickly break through to seize the entire Donetsk Region. The second is to inflict maximum damage to the enemy in personnel and equipment, wearing down the combat potential and reducing the morale and psychological state of its personnel.
According to Cherevatyi, Wagner PMC combatants have been trying to deplete Ukrainian positions wave after wave, despite incredible losses.
"This has constantly required maximum concentration of our troops, because we need to observe the battlefield, especially in the autumn and winter, when they tried to approach wave after wave and impose close combat under the cover of the terrain and bad weather," he said.
