Invaders Attempt to Fool the AFU in Kherson: Expert Explains Details

Invaders attempt to reproduce the military trick previously used by the AFU during liberation of Kharkiv Region.

In his interview for Channel 24, military expert General Leutenant Ihor Romanenko explained that Russian troops attempted to fool the AFU by making fake statements about withdrawal from Kherson.

According to him, the invaders attempt to provoke unsuccessful attack by the AFU and essentially use the experience of Ukrainian military, which once announced upcoming counteroffensive operation in the Southern Ukraine, but attacked in Kharkiv Region instead.

The expert believes that Russia’s propagandist statements about tactical nuclear weapon, a “dirty bomb” and explosions at Kakhovka HPP are needed to distract attention of the AFU, Ukrainian leadership and the western allies from actual situation in the southern part of the country.

"Behind all these curtains, Putin attempts  to change rapidly deteriorating situation at the frontline, where the Russian Army’s positions are getting worse and worse every day. He realizes that the imminent operational defeat may easily progress into strategic defeat which will be the end of his political career”, Romanenko noted.

According to him, the Russian troops have lost strategic initiative in the southern part of Ukraine and now attempt to regain by fooling the Ukrainian troops.

"Let the AFU go on counteroffensive, and we will redeploy our forces, they think. Actually, from military perspective, they are reinforcing their potential. They deploy there (in Kherson area – ed.) freshly mobilized recruits even regardless of their level of training. They are also doing their best in order to arrange at least some logistic chains of supply for their right-bank garrison”, General Leutenant added.
