It has become known which drones Russia is using in Kursk region

Fiber-optic-controlled drones allow Russia to bypass electronic warfare (EW), while regular FPV drones are being lost in large numbers.

Russian military forces are increasingly using fiber-optic-controlled drones, while not paying much attention to the losses of regular FPV drones.

This was reported by Sof the 36th Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynskyi, with the call sign Solomon, as cited by ArmyTV.

"They often send an FPV drone on a mission, and if it doesn't find our target, they just direct it towards our positions. They don't care about losses at all," said Solomon.

According to him, the Russian military actively uses fiber-optic-controlled drones because they are less sensitive to the effects of radio-electronic warfare. Although these drones have a limited range compared to regular ones, their ability to operate in areas where conventional drones lose connection due to REW makes them effective for missions. Additionally, Russia does not concern itself with the loss of regular FPV drones, using them extensively for various purposes.

"In my opinion, FPV drones are more useful for destroying equipment and infantry, while "Mavics" are used for more stationary targets because it's hard to hit infantry with a grenade. Accordingly, equipment can also be struck by drops, there are cumulative munitions, but it should be more stationary equipment: damaged or abandoned," the chief sergeant explained.
