The aftermath of the UAV attack in Ternopil
On the night of December 2, Russian forces struck a building in Ternopil with a drone. People were evacuated.
This was reported by Head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, Viacheslav Nehoda, on the air of the telethon.
According to the head of the administration:
94 people were evacuated;
the wounded (1 seriously injured, 4 lightly injured) were taken to hospital;
a 45-year-old resident, unfortunately, died.
Currently, authorities are determining whether the building is habitable. It has been disconnected from the electricity supply. Technical services are working on the site.
"Of course, we are doing everything to make decisions quickly so that residents can return to their apartments," Nehoda said.
He also added that the drone was "not a dummy" and carried an explosive payload, which is why such destruction occurred.
"There are indications that it was a "Geranium" drone. Most likely, it was a direct hit on a residential building. The preliminary conclusions are as follows," the official concluded.
