On the night of Thursday, February 20, Russia launched a massive missile and drone strike on Ukraine's gas infrastructure. This was reported by the Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko.
According to him, the production facilities were damaged. However, the minister did not specify in which region this occurred or the extent of the damage.
"The goal of these criminal attacks is to halt the extraction of gas needed for domestic consumption and centralized heating. All necessary measures are being taken to eliminate the aftermath of the attacks and stabilize gas supply," Halushchenko said.
The minister also stated that as soon as the security situation allowed, specialists began assessing the damage and restoration work.
