Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that three key factors could lead to internal division in Russia.

He said this in an interview with 24 Kanal.

The first factor is national communities, particularly in the Caucasus and northern Russia, where ethnic groups are dissatisfied with their position within the federation.

The second factor is citizens’ economic well-being. Kuleba noted that Putin still follows Soviet logic, where despite economic hardships, the country continues to spend vast amounts on military needs.

"So, the economic factor is there, when people feel that life becomes unbearable. But this will be a very complex issue, because Putin, through mechanisms of internal repression and control, will always find money for the war," the former foreign minister said.

The third factor is losses on the front. Kuleba noted that each month, fewer people are willing to go to the front.

"Why? Because when you already have hundreds of thousands of dead and wounded, it spreads across the country. People see that this is not a walk in the park, but death, severed legs, arms, mutilation. Fewer people are willing to fight. So this internal protest among people will also gradually grow," the former official said.
