The Russian occupiers have intensified their attacks near Lyman, especially in the area of Serebrianka Forestry.

Commander of the tank platoon from the 63rd Mechanized Brigade, Volodymyr (Veres) Naumets, who is actively engaged in combat on this front, shared this information directly from the frontline with "Hromadske".

At just 24 years old, he has already been in many tough situations, but he mentions that it's the Lyman direction that has been very intense since the Russians launched their offensive.

"The most difficult area is where we are now. This is not only my subjective opinion, but also the opinion of many guys from our brigade. And they believe that this is the most difficult area. Even more difficult than the Bakhmut direction. Very high density, different tactical moments," Naumets notes.

In his opinion, the Russians are attacking because they want to get better defense lines to advance and secure a more advantageous position. Additionally, the enemy is attempting to divert our reserves from the Bakhmut and Zaporizhzhia directions.

"But our guys are standing strong. I believe we can handle it with the forces we have here," assures the young commander.

His brigade is holding the Serebrianka Forestry. According to the military, it is difficult for tanks to fight in the forest - it has to be cleared first. But the offensive was expected here, it was a matter of time, because in other directions the Russians are on the defensive, Naumets notes.

"They are completely on the defensive in the Zaporizhzhia direction. The same goes for the Bakhmut direction. The Avdiivka direction is basically hopeless for them. From the Belarusian side, I believe they have no chances either. Therefore, the Lyman-Kupiansk direction is the most optimal option for them. But we are standing strong," the commander summarized.
