No One Knows When the War in Ukraine Will End – NATO

The West should support Ukraine in the war against Russia.

In order to end the war in Ukraine, the allies should supply Kyiv with more heavy equipment, as NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in an interview with the German newspaper Welt.

According to the NATO Secretary General, "no one knows when the war will end".

"If you want peace tomorrow, you have to support Ukraine today. It sounds strange, but the way to peace is through the supply of weapons," the NATO Secretary General said.

However, according to Stoltenberg, it is not only about Ukraine's security, but also about further developments in the world. NATO believes that if Russian President Vladimir Putin gets away with an aggressive war in Ukraine, it will be dangerous for the Alliance countries as well, as leaders of authoritarian states will know that they can achieve their goals through brute force.

"Our security interests here go beyond solidarity with Ukraine, because if Putin succeeds, others will learn the lessons. The autocrats of this world are watching closely to see how we respond to this invasion," Stoltenberg added.
