During the battles for Toretsk in Donetsk region, Russian forces are employing old tactics, using guided aerial bombs and artillery to destroy the city.

This was stated by military expert Vladyslav Seleznyov on the air of Espreso.

"...the occupiers have reverted to old tactics, developed during the First and Second Chechen Wars. Specifically, they are first using guided aerial bombs and artillery to ensure the destruction of every building in the city. Therefore, our forces are once again facing challenges," Seleznyov explained. According to the expert, the resource factor plays a decisive role in the battles for the city.

"On the one hand, I understand that modern military science points out that urban warfare is one of the most difficult types of combat. In such conditions, the attacking army suffers losses. However, we can now say that the enemy is still advancing in Toretsk. Under these circumstances, the enemy is ready to incur heavy losses in exchange for progress on this section of the front. That is why the resource factor will play a nearly decisive role in the battle for Toretsk," he believes.
