Russian president Volodymyr Putin's greatest desire is to restore the influence in global politics that the Soviet Union once had.
During a press conference with Indian media representatives on Sunday, August 25, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained why the Kremlin's leader will not succeed in achieving this.
"He won't regain it. He simply won't have time, he just won't," Zelenskyy stated.
According to him, the Russian president will be prevented from doing so by both his advanced age [Volodymyr Putin will turn 72 on October 7] and the attitude of world leaders who recently observed the weakness of the Russian state during the offensive of the Armed Forces in Kursk region of the Russian Federation.
"The Ukrainian army, with a small number of troops, enters his region, and he [Russian president Volodymyr Putin] can't do anything for 20 days. All the surrounding political players see it clearly: the army is not as powerful, and he's just a criminal, who threatens, including with nuclear weapons. And those who shake his hand, who are friends with him, who have contracts with him - they've all drawn their conclusions. He's no longer a player; he's just a maniac, a serious terrorist," the Ukrainian President emphasized.
