Scholz is being asked to arm Ukraine with Taurus missiles

Germany could help the Ukrainian Armed Forces equip combat aircraft with Taurus cruise missiles, which are analogous to the British Storm Shadow.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz

This call was made by Markus Faber, a member of the Bundestag Committee on Defense Policy from the leading Free Democratic Party of Germany.

He also noted that Berlin could also make a "significant contribution to the training of Ukrainian pilots." And he called the transfer of Taurus "another smart step."

"With Taurus, we can contribute to higher-quality armaments of Ukraine. In the case of successful integration into the Air Force of Ukraine, they will be able to hit the invaders anywhere. Since this was achieved with the help of Storm Shadow, optimism is appropriate," the deputy emphasized.

According to him, the war will end when the occupiers stop it. Faber emphasized: "we motivate them (Russians - Ed.) to do this, making them understand that their efforts are hopeless."

By the way, Taurus is a long-range air-to-surface tactical cruise missile manufactured in Germany. It has been in service with the Bundeswehr since 2005. It has a range of 500 km.
