The spread of information about the supposed "death" of the Russian president-dictator Volodymyr Putin is a tool to influence the Kremlin's leader himself.

This information was reported by the representative of the Defence Intelligence, Andriy Yusov, on the air of "Radio NV".

The intelligence representative emphasizes that such rumors are a tool to influence Putin because Kremlin spokesman Dmytro Peskov was forced to react and refute such information.

"This is an internal story for Russia and the Russian population. It doesn't help Putin much because there are many supporters of conspiracy theories in Russia. Internal confrontation in Russia continues and it manifests itself in such information campaigns," Yusov commented.

According to him, such campaigns are a "useful subject for observation."

"The main guarantee for the continuation of these processes is our success on the front, the strengthening of sanctions, and the unity of allies. This bogus story was intended to test the reaction of the population and the elites," the Defence Intelligence representative emphasized.
