Zelenskyy made a statement regarding Ukraine's accession to the EU

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy hopes to start negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU as early as this year.

He shared his predictions on Telegram.

He expressed hope that Ukraine will reach a political decision regarding EU membership already this year.

"Europe needs the European Union. And let Ukrainian optimism about the EU serve a more stable future for all of Europe!" - the President wrote.

He also emphasized that the EU's borders will be the borders of the European continent without any "gray areas."

"Our political generation is capable of ensuring this, and I am confident that we will not miss such a special moment," Zelenskyy added.
