The West Is Urged to Introduce Total Energy Embargo against Russia
It’s essential to block all the ways Russia is using in order to bypass the Western sanctions through the third countries, the Ukrainian businessman believes.
In his interview for Polish mass media outlet Wiadomości, Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov urged the world to increase the sanction pressure against the Russian Federation and introduce the total energy embargo against the aggressor state.
According to him, Russia did not expect such a resolute sanction response by the West, therefore the sanction pressure must be increased.
"The key point is the total energy embargo against Russia, which will make the West stronger and will deprive Russia of opportunity to use the western money for funding its military machine”, the businessman said.
According to him, it’s also essential to block all the ways Russia is using in order to bypass the Western sanctions through the third countries. He stressed that the effect of the sanctions was already evident, and in the long-term perspective the Russian economy would suffer serious losses provided continued sanction pressure.
