Ukrenerho Reported on Situation with Power Supply: Significant Energy Shortage
Emergency blackouts are introduced in some regions.
On Thursday, December 16th, Ukrainian energy system is still facing significant power shortage. The situation is getting even more complicated due to the poor weather conditions, such as snow, glaciation, and strong wind gusts, Ukrenergo reports.
On December 15th, updated electricity consumption limits were allocated to all regional grid operators. However, emergency blackouts are still introduced in some regions due to growing consumption exceeding the limits, NEC’s statement reads.
"In the Eastern part of Ukraine, the enemy carried out another artillery strike in a recently liberated area causing more damage to the energy infrastructure facilities. Emergency repair teams will commence engineering works immediately after approval by the military authorities”, Ukrenerho added.
