Zelenskyy announces when North Korean soldiers will begin participating in hostilities

The President describes Moscow's actions as "an escalation step."

The first military personnel from North Korea will be deployed by Russia in combat zones in the war in Ukraine as early as October 27–28.

This information was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, citing intelligence sources.

The Head of State called these actions "an obvious escalation step by Russia," and characterized Moscow's statements made at the BRICS summit in Kazan as "disinformation."

"The world can clearly see what Russia truly wants, and that is the continuation of the war. That is why a principled and strong response from world leaders is needed. The actual involvement of North Korea in combat must be met with a response that does not involve closed eyes and confused comments, but with tangible pressure on both Moscow and Pyongyang to uphold the UN Charter and punish escalation," Zelenskyy stressed.
