The commander of the "Achilles" battalion of unmanned aerial vehicles in the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after the Cossack ataman Ivan Sirko, Yuriy Fedorenko, spoke about the situation in the Kupiansk direction.
In an interview with Radio NV, the commander discussed the enemy's plans and answered the question of whether the Russians intend to cross to the right bank of the Oskil River.
"It's premature to discuss this at the moment. Of course, the enemy has such a desire, but how will it be realized? To cross to the other side of the Oskil River, specifically to the right bank of Kupiansk, the enemy needs to force the river. But I must tell you, we forced it in 2022 while repelling Kupiansk from the enemy. It was a very, very challenging task. At that time, technologies like FPV drones and other unmanned systems that actively detect and strike the enemy were not yet developed," he noted.
Yuriy Fedorenko says that, in his view, there can be no talk of crossing the Oskil River in the near future.
"At this moment, it's crucial for the enemy to gain a foothold on the left bank, fully occupy the settlement of Kruhlyakivka, establish themselves, and expand their bridgehead, particularly towards Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. After a gradual occupation of the left bank of Kupiansk, we can say that the enemy will have a sufficient bridgehead with the necessary capability to bring in firepower for artillery preparation on the left bank, and then align their troops to plan the task of crossing the river and reaching the right bank. For now, it's premature to discuss this," the commander concluded.
