Russia has moved its combat aircraft, which are targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure, to distances beyond the reach of conventional weapons. This is why Ukraine needs permission to use Western long-range missiles.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement in an interview for Fareed Zakaria's GPS program on CNN.

He emphasized that Russia had destroyed 80% of Ukraine's energy infrastructure specifically using guided bombs.

"We had meetings with officials, and I said that we had waited too long. Now, Russia is moving its aircraft from distances of 100-150 km to 300-500 km. And now we need even more permissions. They are still not granted," Zelenskyy said.
