Zelenskyy explains what China can do to end the Russian war

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Beijing has not publicly condemned Russian aggression. Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged China to pressure Russia to end the war, which has resulted in the deaths of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians over the past three years.

The Ukrainian President made these remarks in an interview with French media, reported by AFP.

"If China wants, it can force Russia to stop this war. China wants peace and has influence. I don't want Beijing to be a mediator. I want it to pressure the Kremlin," the Ukrainian President emphasized.

The West believes that the economic support China has provided to Russia has enabled its military-industrial complex to gear up for war. This was made possible by supplying Russian defense enterprises with necessary Chinese-made components that were lacking for weapon production.

Although the Chinese authorities have never condemned the Russian invasion, Beijing has repeatedly stated that it supports the territorial integrity of all countries, including Ukraine.
