The building was well-known among the locals.
According to TV presenter Andriy Bedniakov, the Russian invaders want to destroy the iconic site famous among Mariupol residents.
In his Instagram story, the showman showed an iconic place – the Clock House in the very heart of Mariupol. The local residents and Bedniakov himself keep many pleasant and important memories related to this site.
"This is the very center of Mariupol. The iconic Clock House (famous among Mariupol residents. I remember as a kid, when I came to the downtown, I stood and looked at the clock. Then, when we grew up, we often made an appointment with friends "under the clock" to go for a walk or to hand out in the park," Bedniakov recalled.
However, the Russian invaders came here to destroy and decided to demolish such a landmark building for Mariupol residents.
"Yesterday, the temporary "occupants" of Mariupol began to demolish it. No matter how hard they try to stop the clock of our city, we will still bring new batteries and restart it," Bedniakov reassured.
