Arranged by Russia itself: a German political scientist explained why Putin staged a provocation with drones

The provocation with the explosion of a drone over the Kremlin was arranged by the Russian special services themselves.

This opinion was expressed by Andreas Umland, a German political scientist and analyst at the Stockholm Center for Eastern European Studies, FREEDOM reports.

In his opinion, the incident resembles the explosions of residential buildings in Moscow, Buynaksk and Volgodonsk in 1999, which were arranged by the FSB and blamed on Chechen rebels. In this way, Moscow got a reason to start the Second Chechen War.

"And these explosions later became the reason for the start of the Second Chechen War, and they also helped later - this war and these explosions helped Putin become president for the first time in 2000. And perhaps we are now observing a similar operation, where some kind of justification is being created for some big actions. I'm afraid of that. Unfortunately, it's something to be afraid of," Umland said.
