Russian troops are trying to seize Toretsk in Donetsk region as quickly as possible. Currently, the Russians have occupied about 50% of the city.
This was stated by Head of the Toretsk City Military Administration Vasyl Chynchyk.
"Approximately 40-50% of Toretsk remains under Ukrainian control, while the other territory has been captured. The enemy is making every effort to take the city in the shortest possible time," the official says.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to hold their positions. According to Chynchyk, in the last 24 hours, the occupiers have not been able to advance in Toretsk.
"Yesterday, not a single advance was recorded, not a single position was captured, and not a single building, residential building, or critical infrastructure object on the territory of the community," the head of the military administration reported.
Chynchyk also notes that evacuation from Toretsk is ongoing, but in a limited capacity. In the last 24 hours, seven people have been evacuated from the community. Approximately 1,150 residents remain in the city.
