Battles in Donbas: an expert identified two key directions for Russia and reported on enemy successes

The enemy has made advances in certain areas.

War.

War.

The Russian occupying army continues to expand its positions in the Kramatorsk direction, specifically in the area of Chasiv Yar. Meanwhile, in the Pokrovsk direction, the occupiers are attempting to push the Ukrainian Armed Forces back across the Vovcha River and the Karlivka Reservoir.

Military analyst Kostiantyn Mashovets reported on the situation in Donbas.

He says that in the Kramatorsk direction, Russian forces managed to reach the "Siverskyi Donets - Donbas" canal. However, their attacks near the canal and the T-0504 road between Kostiantynivka and Bakhmut were unsuccessful.

"The enemy once again tried to push our forward units away from the railway line between Klishchiivka and Andriivka with several assault groups. So far, they have not achieved significant success. The command of their "South" military grouping has not yet managed to create conditions for flanking the defense area of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the city of Chasiv Yar," Mashovets said.

The analyst believes that "the Russian command already "realizes" that a frontal "assault on Chasiv Yar" would cost them approximately as much as Bakhmut."

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army is also actively storming near Toretsk and in the area of New York and Zalizne. Additionally, the Russian command plans to "deploy the entire 27th Motorized Rifle Division in one sector" of this front.

"The enemy is clearly trying to cut off our forward units, which are currently engaged in heavy fighting in Novoselivka Persha and further south, from the possibility of retreating west of the Vovcha River. While they have had some success to the north and in the area of Novoselivka Persha, slowly and gradually advancing from north to south, things are not going as well on the southern flank of this bridgehead, near Yasnobrodivka," Mashovets explained.

The expert notes that further enemy advances towards the Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka road "have encountered certain difficulties for the enemy."
