Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, said that Russia was actively opposing the Peace Summit in Switzerland, trying to persuade countries not to participate in it.
The chief of the military intelligence stated this on the air of the telethon.
According to Budanov, the Russians are acting quite actively and have visited all countries except the Western European states, to disrupt the Peace Summit. In countries where they cannot directly intervene, they exert influence through economic leverage and mediation by other states.
"Russia is countering it, which is entirely understandable. They cannot act otherwise. We take a step - they take a step in response," the Chief of the Defence Intelligence said.
He also predicts that after the Peace Summit, Russia's reaction will be "more or less restrained."
It should be noted that the Peace Summit will take place on June 15-16.
