Cherkasy experienced its longest air raid alert since the start of the war, lasting over 13 consecutive hours as the enemy bombarded the skies with missiles and "Shahed" drones.

This was reported by Head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Ihor Taburets.

"Our defenders have successfully downed 10 UAVs within the region, mostly without significant consequences. However, an enemy "Shahed" caused damage in Zolotonosha district. Fortunately, no one was injured, which is the most important thing! As of now, we have 17 damaged houses in Shramkivka, three of them significantly, as well as the power line," Taburets said.

He added that all necessary services were deployed to eliminate the aftermath of the attacks.

"I want to thank the rescuers for their prompt response to the urgent tasks, and also the team of the Cherkasy Regional Organization of the Red Cross of Ukraine for their assistance. I coordinated the work on-site, and I expect the utmost responsibility from everyone involved. The situation is under control," he said.

Taburets stressed that this Russian strike was once again aimed at critical civilian infrastructure. Therefore, the situation in the energy sector is difficult now. Strict power outage schedules are in effect.

"As soon as we receive updates from energy providers, I will inform you immediately. We have reopened the "Points of Invincibility" throughout the region due to the unstable operation of the power system," he concluded.
