Danilov Sharply Responded to Western Experts' Predictions About the War in Ukraine
He noted that the theses presented "do not correspond to reality from the war”.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksii Danilov commented on an article published in The Washington Post.
Danilov responded to Western experts' predictions about the war during the national TV marathon.
He noted that the information provided by the Western media was not true.
In particular, the WSJ article refers to the quality of Ukrainian troops, which has allegedly deteriorated due to the loss of many of the most experienced fighters on the battlefield, and this "has led some Ukrainian officials to question Kyiv's readiness for the long-awaited spring offensive."
Moreover, the article quotes unnamed American and European officials' estimates of Ukrainian losses - allegedly up to 120,000 Ukrainian soldiers killed and wounded, while Russia has lost approximately 200,000 soldiers.
"We read these newspapers very carefully before February 24th (2022 - ed.), when they all unanimously told us here that there would be trouble, that we would not have the ability to hold (the defense - ed.). They had already written us down as a losing country in advance," the NSDC Secretary said.
According to him, the situation on the battlefield is really difficult.
"We have been waging a war against a great country for over a year now - great in terms of territory, but not in terms of intelligence. We understand that it will be difficult, we have understood this from the very beginning. We are grateful to our partners for their support, but it is not a pleasant thing to undermine the situation in our country by providing information that is not true," Danilov emphasized.
