During the summer, the main focus of Russia’s military efforts will remain on Donetsk region. In particular, the occupiers will try to assault several key cities.

This was stated by military expert Vladyslav Seleznyov during a broadcast on Espreso.

According to him, Russian attempts to push into Dnipropetrovsk region are merely a "byproduct" of broader operations taking place to the west and southwest of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region.

The Russian army is trying to create a pincer movement for the operational encirclement of the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad urban agglomeration. From the west, they are active near the border of Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk region, and from the east, they are trying to encircle the Ukrainian forces defending Myrnohrad. Additionally, this grouping is forming an offensive foothold from the southwest to attack Kostiantynivka.

“In the summer, the enemy will attempt to concentrate as many forces and resources as possible to attack the urban agglomeration in Donetsk region — Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka, and Kostyantynivka. The intensity of fighting around Chasiv Yar and Lyman speaks for itself,” Seleznyov adds.
