French Mirage 2000: How these fighters will enhance Ukraine's defense capabilities

Ukraine may soon receive French Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets, which will serve two main functions, including strengthening air defense. As aviation expert Valeriy Romanenko explained in a comment for the YouTube channel RBC-Ukraine, these fighters can primarily be used as carriers for Storm Shadow missiles.

Another important role of these aircraft is to enhance air defense. However, according to the expert, caution is needed here, as Ukrainian Defense Forces are already using F-16s, and fighter jets should avoid areas where air defense systems are active.

"These planes need to be used separately from others. So, I don't think they will be primarily used as air defense fighters. However, they can perform many functions: dropping cruise bombs, such as the French AASM Hammer, and launching anti-radar missiles to help break through enemy air defense," Romanenko noted.
