Currently, Ukraine is implementing hourly power outages. The duration of such measures depends on several factors. It is currently difficult to forecast any specific timelines.
This was stated by Minister of Energy, Herman Halushchenko, during the hour of questions to the government.
"As a result of the attacks on the energy system since March 22, we have lost over 8 gigawatts of generating capacity in the system. This is a huge amount," the Minister of Energy said.
According to him, everything will depend on the pace of recovery of the lost capacity, as well as the impact of new enemy attacks on the country's energy system.
"The decision whether to carry out power outages or not will depend on how we can restore all the lost generation. Let's be candid about it: it will also depend on the level of subsequent enemy attacks. We know they will come, we know they plan to attack our energy system. Consequently, forecasting the aftermath at the moment is difficult. We hope they will be minimal," Halushchenko said.
