During the Easter "silence" on the front lines in Ukraine, Russian forces were bringing up reinforcements and restoring their offensive potential.

Russian troops turn any pause on the battlefield into preparation for new attacks against Ukraine. False claims of an Easter truce masked enemy assaults and the large-scale movement of Russian equipment.

Viktor Trehubov, spokesman for the Ukrainian Joint Forces, reported this on the national telethon.

Trehubov explained how Russia took advantage of the Easter ceasefire on the battlefield.

"In fact, there was no Easter truce on the front; the Russians used it to replenish forces and redeploy equipment," he said.

The spokesman stressed that the level of combat activity remained steady: 18 Russian assaults were recorded over the past day, consistent with typical figures.

"In reality, the truce was merely a political statement by Russia. In areas where fighting was low, the Russians were pulling up forces and restoring their offensive potential," he added.
