A disinformation thesis is spreading on the Internet, that “Zelenskyy announced the start of peace negotiations with Russia in June 2024”.

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) has debunked information about Ukraine's preparation for the start of peace negotiations with Russia in June 2024.

This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation of the NSDC of Ukraine on April 29.

They pointed out that the information alleging that Ukraine is supposedly preparing to start peace negotiations with Russia in June does not correspond to reality. The dissemination of these claims online is a manipulation surrounding the statement of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"A disinformation thesis that “Zelenskyy announced the start of peace negotiations with Russia in June 2024” is spreading. In reality, the President stated: “The world majority must compel Russia to peace and can do it. The path to a just peace may begin in June”, as explained by the Center for Countering Disinformation.

They clarified that this refers to the summit on the Ukrainian Peace Formula in Switzerland. It will serve as a platform for discussing the future peace process. However, Russia will not be among the participants of the summit, so there is no talk of any peace agreement.

As noted by the Center for Countering Disinformation, similar messages help the enemy in its attempts to sow defeatist sentiments within Ukrainian society.
