Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, stated that the supply of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine would allow the Ukrainian ports to be unblocked so that grain could continue to be supplied to the global market.

This is mentioned in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs press service.

He pointed out that Russia deliberately disrupts the grain initiative, targeting Ukrainian ports in an attempt to profit from rising food prices.

The Minister called on EU member states to actively work together to deprive Russia of leverage on Ukrainian maritime exports.

According to him, the ideal scenario would be a complete end to the Russian naval blockade of Ukrainian ports. This will be possible when Ukraine receives the first F-16 squadrons that will be able to patrol the skies and maritime routes. The Minister expressed gratitude to those EU countries that are actively contributing to the aviation coalition and urged them to implement all procedures as quickly as possible.

"Currently, Ukraine has proposed to the UN and Turkey to continue the work of the grain corridor in a trilateral format, including ship inspections at the Joint Coordination Center. We await their response. I urge you to support our request in your interaction with the UN and the Secretary-General," he appealed.

Dmytro Kuleba emphasized that all alternative routes for exporting Ukrainian grain should currently operate at full capacity and expand, and any statements about restrictions are unacceptable.

"Under the current conditions, it is necessary to open all doors instead of keeping some of them closed," the Minister stated.
