According to Vadym Boichenko, the Mayor of Mariupol, the local residents have no access to proper medical services, which sometimes causes patients to lose their extremities.

The residents of Russia-controlled Mariupol are dying due to desperate lack of medicines. The city is running critically low on cancer, diabetes, tuberculosis and thyroid disorder treatment drugs.

"Yesterday, a healthy athlete – 2 meters high and weighing 120 kg – lost both of his legs. Why? Well, he developed insulin crisis due to overwhelming stress caused by the military hostilities. He has become disabled due to lack of vital medications and no access to proper medical care. This is not an exceptional case. Limb amputation instead of proper treatment. “Quick fixes”, which maim and kill Mariupol residents”, Vadym Boichenko explained.

According to him, even after 2 months of their rule the Russian invaders have failed to restore normal access to potable water, sufficient medicine stock and proper healthcare system for local residents.

Vadym Boichenko urged the international community to give appropriate response to the humanitarian disaster in the city and genocide of the local residents by joining the efforts to provide organized support to the Mariupol civilians.
