Massive attacks on Kyiv: the Ministry of Defense revealed Russia's objectives
The air defense forces are operating at the highest level in the capital.
The occupiers want to sow fear among people, by attacking Kiev
Russia has been attempting to intimidate civilians in Kyiv through mass missile and drone attacks, according to the Deputy Minister of Defense, Hanna Maliar, in an interview with the Polish news agency PAP.
She believes that Moscow is aiming to instill fear among the civilian population through shelling the Ukrainian capital. At the same time, Maliar emphasizes that the aggressor country consistently targets military and critical infrastructure.
"The fact that missiles are flying towards Kyiv is certainly not accidental. The shelling of infrastructure is a message: the shelling of Kyiv is proof that Russia has no regard for morals," the ministry representative emphasized.
Maliar points out that the air defense forces are operating at the highest level, destroying the majority of enemy missiles and drones. However, their debris poses a threat to people's lives.
"We cannot predict where the debris will fall. They not only affect apartment buildings but also schools and kindergartens. Therefore, although the number of incidents is much lower than at the beginning of the war, we still suffer losses among the civilian population," says Hanna Maliar.
As reported, the Russian army began to attack Kyiv with ballistic missiles. In particular, during the attack on the night of June 1, these weapons were used. It is very insidious, because the approach time is a matter of minutes. After all, the speed of a ballistic missile is thousands of kilometers per hour, and the distance from where it was launched is short.
