Russia has changed its tactics for terrorist attacks using strike drones — now they are flying at altitudes beyond the reach of Ukrainian mobile air defense groups. To counter the "Shaheds," other weapons are being used — FPV drones.
This was shared by the Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ UAV Systems, Vadym Sukharevskyi, in an interview with LIGA.net.
He reminded that after the first enemy strikes with "Shaheds," Ukraine quickly created thousands of mobile fire groups, which showed high effectiveness and forced the enemy to adjust its tactics.
"The Russians saw that it wasn’t working and began to change their tactics, improving and changing the altitudes," Sukharevskyi explained.
He compared the war to a game of chess, where every move by the enemy requires a response.
"Any war is a chess game. What was a priority yesterday can become hopelessly outdated today," he emphasized.
According to Vadym Sukharevskyi, now Ukrainian air defenders increasingly use FPV drones to shoot down enemy "Shaheds."
"This is already yielding real results. Next, we enter a constant technological arms race," he stressed.
