"Paralyze" Without Military Action: NATO Deputy Secretary General Declassifies Putin's plans for Moldova

The troops of the Russian Federation will not attack Moldova directly, but will try to paralyze it with a hybrid war.

This was stated by Romanian politician, Speaker of the Senate, the upper house of the Romanian parliament, and NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană.

"At the moment, there is no immediate threat to Moldova, because Moscow failed to capture Odesa and come to Transnistria," Geoană said, pointing to other hostile actions of the Kremlin.

The Kremlin used its entire arsenal of hybrid warfare in Montenegro. Now it can happen in Moldova," he added.

He noted that the tools used by Russia in Moldova would include attempts to cause chaos in the activities of state authorities, internal destabilization activities through social protests or cyberattacks.

"Moldova has a chance to break out of its current strategic ambiguity and have a better life in Europe," the Romanian politician said, emphasizing that Chisinau's membership in both the EU and NATO is realistic.
