He stressed that Ukraine would fight on its own, and the partners were asked only to “stand by and give weapons".

In his interview for the Channel 24, Mykhailo Podoliak, the Advisor to the Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, called on Western partners to provide the country with all the necessary weapons as soon as possible so that the allies do not have to "watch our heroes die with tears in their eyes".

He noted that it could be difficult for Ukraine's partners to make important decisions in the face of civilization and history, but these decisions would determine whether the world would allow Russia to continue its behavior and become an example for other totalitarian regimes in violating international law and the right of other states to sovereignty.

"Today, these Lavrov-type and Peskov-type actors come out again from time to time and say: "It is NATO that continues to escalate in Ukraine." The question is, are we going to let these people continue to lie? Because we need to take Lavrov and put him in the dock so that he understands: "You attacked another country, you, Lavrov personally, attacked Ukraine. There is no NATO, no escalation, no geopolitics". And we have to end it, because if we don't end it, this person will keep saying it," the Advisor emphasized.

He noted that Ukrainians would fight on their own, and Western partners were asked only to provide weapons.

"We have to properly explain to our partners day after day that there is no need to be afraid. There are crucial historical moments when it is necessary (to make decisions - ed.). I understand that you were scared before and you are scared today. However, Ukraine says: "We will make a decision, we will fight, and you just stand by and give us weapons," Podoliak said.

He also emphasized that the slower the partners provided weapons, the more Ukrainian soldiers died. The Advisor reminded that Ukraine had repeatedly appealed to its partners: "Give us weapons and we will destroy them".

"We have the right to do this under international law, don't we? We are doing it, so give us what we need in order to it! Or do you want to watch this whole horde climb on us? So then, when ten of our guys are standing against 1000 of enemy troops, you will say with tears in your eyes: "Look at the heroes". Let's not bring it to that point," Podoliak urged.

He added that this war was a modern and high-tech one, so if Ukraine received all the necessary weapons, the allies wouldn’t have to "watch our heroes die with tears in their eyes".
