The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Oleksander Lukashenko, says that Ukraine has amassed troops on the border with Belarus because it believes Russia might once again use Belarusian territory for an invasion. In doing so, he admitted that aggression against Ukraine had indeed taken place through Belarus.

Political scientist Valery Dymov said this in a conversation with "24 Kanal" with reference to Lukashenko's interview with a propaganda publication.

Against the backdrop of what Lukashenko referred to as Ukraine's "escalation" in Kursk region and the "attempts to push Moscow into asymmetric actions," such as the use of nuclear weapons, it appears that the Belarusian leader is genuinely afraid that something might threaten him.

"At the same time, he himself decides nothing, as he is controlled by Volodymyr Putin, who, by the way, might have increased the pressure on Lukashenko recently... His statements are paranoid. He talks about moving a third of the troops to the border with Ukraine. A third of what? From which troops? I know very well what the situation is in Belarus. Not only has Russia taken out equipment and ammunition from there, but now Belarus is also giving everything from its military warehouses directly to them. Who will he defend himself with?" the expert added.

Meanwhile, the Belarusian dictator continues to try to intimidate the public. He also stated that Russia "will help him if anything happens."

"But even this sounds comical, as the Kremlin cannot even manage its own territory, part of which is already under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," the expert concluded.
